Anchor INCENSE

USAGE

To light stick incense:

When lighting stick incense, be sure to hold the incense away from your face and hair—many types of stick incense will ignite with a tall flame. Be sure that you are holding the incense over a flame-proof surface, such as a porcelain sink. Hold the incense by the bare end and light the uncoated end (hold away from face and hair). After igniting, gently blow out the flame. It should glow red and give off a wisp of pale, fragrant smoke. Place the unlit end into your incense holder and let the aroma take over.Be sure that no embers fall off the incense onto flammable surfaces or into contact with flammable materials. Be aware that stick incense creates ash which may blow onto surfaces outside the burner.

To extinguish stick incense:

Stick incense may be extinguished by placing the burning end under running water, or into clean sand. Be sure that no burning embers fall from the stick onto flammable surfaces or materials while transporting the incense burner or incense to water or sand.

Usage for Diya/Candle/dhoop

WHY LIGHT DIYA/CANDLE?

The only natural source of energy that illuminates our earth is sun. In yogic culture Diya is subtle form of sun that not only illuminates us inside out but also provides connection to the universal source of energy. The flame of Diya is seen as a symbol of the divine or the presence of sun energy. In many cultures around the world, the burning of a lamp or a candle or a Diya, has religious and practical significance. E.g., the act of lighting a Diya is considered as way to honor and pay respect to deities and ancestors. It is believed to bring good luck and prosperity. Additionally, the flame of a lamp, candle or diya is seen as a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. Knowledge and wisdom have uplifted mankind towards a better future. The lighted wick moves from darkness at the bottom to brightness at the top of the wick. It is suggestive of the direction in which our energy should move. So our goal is when you light The Pure Incense Co. diya or candle or any of our products, you focus your energy in the right direction for growth.
